Check out these new six promo spots that introduce us to the characters of director Guy Ritchie’s next movie, The Gentlemen. This is a movie that I’m really excited about as it’s reminiscent of the remarkably fresh films that Ritchie was making early on in his directing careers like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
This is an awesome fast-paced style of movie that is driven by active and witty dialogue and this next movie is an action crime comedy that explores the “collision between European ‘old money’ and the modern marijuana business. It follows a British drug lord trying to cash out on his highly lucrative empire by selling it off to a family of Oklahoma billionaires.”
The movie is said to be “in the vein of the “high-energy British gangster pics” and the extraordinary cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Collin Farrell, Henry Golding, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Jeremy Strong (Succession) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes).
Check out the synopsis for The Gentlemen:
From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes THE GENTLEMEN, a star-studded sophisticated action comedy. THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.
The Gentlemen will hit theaters on January 24, 2020.
