The Gallows got the full trailer today. The film is set in a high school twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play, when “students at the same small town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy—but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.”
The movie was an independent production by filmmakers Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff. They funded the movie through local investors and shot it on their own terms, and it was picked up by Blumhouse Pictures, who is the production company behind the Paranormal Activity films and the Insidiousfranchise.
The film will be released in theaters by New Line Cinema on July 10th.
