How to Convert CS:GO Sensitivity to Valorant

CS:GO Valorant

CS:GO veterans who want to try something similar but yet refreshing almost always end up on Valorant. Even though the aiming system is similar, sensitivities in those two games are very different, and the same values won’t produce the same output. If you are one of those players, stick around and find out how to convert your CS:GO sensitivity to Valorant.

What is Sensitivity?

Sensitivity is the measurement of how responsive your mouse’s movement is in relation to the movement on the screen. In first-person shooter games like CS:GO and Valorant, it plays a crucial role in aiming. The higher it is, the faster and more responsive the cursor is on your screen. The lower it is, the slower and less responsive the cursor is.

Lower sensitivity usually means higher precision but there are some limitations. You can’t go too low as the game will become unplayable. On the other hand, increasing it will give you a lower response time and faster in-game reactions.

That’s why it is crucial to find the perfect balance between the two. But since you are here, you probably already found that in CS:GO. Let’s check out how to convert your CS:GO sens to Valorant.

CS:GO Valorant

Converting CS:GO Sens to Valorant

Since the two games are very similar, the majority of Valorant players have CS:GO background. In fact, 68% of all players from the top 10 Valorant teams are ex-professional CS:GO players. Every single one of those players had to convert their sensitivities in order to compete on the pro Valorant scene. If you want to keep your settings intact, you’ll have to do the same.

To convert your CS:GO sensitivity to Valorant, you’ll have to use a specific formula. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a world-class mathematician to do this.

The magic formula is very simple:

CS:GO sens/3.18 = Valorant sens

As you can see from the formula above, all you have to do is divide your current CS:GO sensitivity by 3.18 and you will get the exact number that represents your new Valorant sensitivity.

For example, if your CS:GO sensitivity is 1, the Valorant sensitivity with the same output will be 0,31. If it was 2, then it will be 2/3,18 = 0,628, and so on.

Keep in mind that your mouse DPI and cursor speed in windows mouse settings have to be the same as they previously were. In case you also want to change your DPI, you will have to use a mouse sensitivity calculator to do it properly.

Once you have your sensitivity converted, you can start playing and testing to see if it feels good or not. Additionally, you can make adjustments as needed to find the one that works best for you.

How to Find the Perfect Sensitivity for Valorant?

A lot of players experience a problem after converting their sensitivity from CS:GO to Valorant. Even though it is the same, it feels too slow. Considering the fact that Valorant is a slightly faster-paced game, you will probably need a higher sensitivity than you needed in CS:GO.

You can start with your converted CS:GO value and gradually increase it until you find a comfortable setting. This can be done by going into practice mode and practicing with bots. Try different values by keeping the crosshair on the bot’s head and see which ones work the best.

Another way to find the perfect sensitivity is to adjust it based on your mousepad. You should be able to make a 360° rotation on your mousepad, starting from the far left edge and dragging your mouse all the way to the far right edge. Once you find the sensitivity that does just that, it will be perfectly geometrically balanced. When your mouse is in the middle of the mousepad, moving it all the way to any side will rotate your in-game character by 180°. In case you use a large mousepad, just imagine your mousepad is the area you actually use for mouse movements.

Adjusting to a new sensitivity in a first-person shooter game can be a challenge, but with a little bit of patience and experimentation, you’ll be able to find what works best for you. Remember to keep an open mind and be willing to make adjustments as needed. By following the conversion method outlined in this article, you’ll be able to convert your CS:GO sensitivity to Valorant and start playing at your best. After all, your muscle memory is already used to your old CS:GO sens.
