Idris Elba’s LUTHER Netflix Movie Gets a Release Date, Title and New Photos

The Luther movie starring Idris Elba finally has a name, date, and a few new photos. Netflix UK’s Twitter released a new post that unveils the name of the film Luther: The Fallen Sun.

The movie will follow the story of the detective chief inspector John Luther, imprisoned after solving a case of a string of cyber serial murders. The movie picks up where the five-season British series left off. Plagued by his failure to catch the real villain, Luther feels obliged to make difficult choices behind bars.

The movie will welcome back the character DSU Martin Schenk, played by actor Dermot Crowley. Newcomers to the cast include Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet) and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes).

Luther: The Fallen Sun will release on Netflix this March.
