Rebellion unveiled more details on its latest entry in its critically acclaimed WWII shooter, Sniper Elite 5. Coming out later this month, Sniper Elite 5 is upping the ante with enhanced visuals, physics, and new multiplayer modes that will get any gun trotting history buff enthusiastic.
The game is based in France this time around and centers around the events of D-Day. The goal is to stop the Nazi threat by destroying their latest project, Operation Kraken, from turning the tides of war in their favor. The campaign is completely playable in either solo or coop modes, making this a great tool to utilize the help of a friend when needing some backup on a mission.
Invasion mode makes its the game series first appearance in Sniper Elite 5, letting enemy players invade your game and try to cut your campaign short. Invading enemies will use the Axis enemy AI to help track down Karl and destroy him. Players are going to have to stay on their toes and look for phones placed within the level to help gather intel on the invader’s place. This mode sounds amazing, but it will be interesting to see how it is executed. The attack mode can be turned on and off in the menu, making it entirely optional for players.
Invasion mode is not the only multiplayer you will be able to find in this game, it’s coming with the series core combat modes, totaling four in all. On top of that, the game is all platform crossplay compatible so fans will be happy to know that servers will have a healthy player base and you can play with friends no matter if they play on a console or PC.
Advanced gun physics, weapon customization, and traversal mechanics have all been significantly improved in the new entry. Players can expect even more realistic gunplay and bullet ballistics along with the ability to thoroughly customize weapons with stocks, magazines, scopes, and a lot more.
If you thought that wasn’t sufficient to satisfy your headhunting desires, Sniper Elite 5 is coming out with a Season Pass in its Deluxe Edition that comes with two campaign missions, weapon skins, character packs, and weapon packs.
