20th Century Fox recently announced that Independence Day 2 would be released on July 3rd, 2015. Director Roland Emmerich is working hard alongside producer Dean Devlin on trying to get this sequel off the ground, and it’s actually going to happen.
Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are confirmed to be in the movie Thanks to Movies and will return to reprise their roles. It was previously revealed that Will Smith will not be returning because he’s too expensive now. But Will Smith is the most important character of the movie but i love Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman and just to see them coming back to relive the magic of Independence Day 2 makes me so Excited.
In a recent interview, Devlin said that they had come up with a worthy concept for the sequel, and explained:
We resisted doing the sequel for years because we still wanted to honor the first one. The first one gave us all careers and we really love that movie and loved the experience.
We didn’t want to make a movie because it was financially a good idea, we only wanted to do it when we had an idea and a concept that creatively felt like it honored the first one—that it felt like an organic sequel as opposed to ‘let’s just go make some more money.
I feel like we got it. I think it took a long time, but I feel like we finally got something that really feels like, ‘that’s worth seeing as a sequel to Independence Day.’
We just loved Independence Day and can’t even count how many times we saw it together collectively, Whenever we watch the movie there is something new in it something exciting, very exciting.
