Harrison Ford was at the Lucasfilm presentation at the Star Wars Celebration to announce that Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on June 30, 2023! They also revealed the first photo from the movie! As you can see, it’s a classic silhouette shot of Indy doing what he does best. Ford also revealed that the film is almost done shooting.
John Williams was also there with a live orchestra, and he conducted a live rendition of the classic Indiana Jones theme song, which was really brilliant for everyone in attendance! That was brilliant.
James Mangold is directing Indiana Jones 5 with Steven Spielberg producing. The film’s cast also includes Antonia Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson.
The story for this movie is reportedly set in the ‘60s during the space race, which has seemingly been verified by set photos that have surfaced. Those photos show a big ticker-tape parade featuring red, white, and blue prop signs that read “Welcome Back to Earth” and “Welcome Back Astronauts.”
The movie has also filmed scenes at the “haunted” Bamburgh Castle, which has people assuming that this movie will have a scrapped Last Crusade storyline that saw Indiana Jones fighting a ghost while on vacation. I can’t wait for this movie, it looks really good.
