Here we have another promo spot for all of you X-Files fans. The pressure is building as Agent’s Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are searching for their son. They also are forced to unwillingly team up with Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), who they don’t trust anymore and I have to say I love this character since the season 1 and he is the most badass looking cop boss I have ever seen.
THE X-FILES Season 11 will consist of ten episodes. Two of them will continue the saga story, and the rest will be more standalone “monster of the week” episodes. We have to wait and see what creator Chris Carter and his team have in store for us this time.
With more monster-of-the-week episodes this season, fans can expect season 11 to be united in theme but varied in tone. After episode one delves into the Cigarette Smoking Man’s (William B. Davis) backstory and apparent family ties to Mulder, the second hour opens with a time jump to put distance between Mulder and Scully and the events of the premiere. And episode three is a darkly comedic hour, penned by Carter, focusing on doubles and doppelgängers. But beyond the humor, the larger mythology of The X-Files — like the fallout from Scully’s abduction and the chip that was implanted in her neck — continues to shape Mulder and Scully’s world.
Carter has also said that we’ll get a “new angle” on Mulder and Scully’s long-suffering FBI boss, Assistant Director Skinner, which is said to be an origin episode. He also adds that “Familiar alliances are rattled”, which is teased in this promo.
The new series also stars Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, and Haley Joel Osment. The X-Files is set to air on January 3rd, 2018.
