Interesting TOMB RAIDER Movie Reboot New Story Details Revealed

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider movie reboot will be starring Alicia Vikander and movie will be using elements from the most recent video game adventures of Lara Croft, Today we got an interview from HeyUGuys they had with Tomb Raider producer Graham King.

King explains:

“Well this is kind of what we call a ‘back to the roots story.’ This is a young Lara Croft in search to see if her father is dead or alive, so it has a very emotional part to it and I think that’s what Alicia found so interesting about it. I think the storytelling is really good and I think we’ve got the right crew and a great director and I think it’s going to be really fun making a film like this.”

Lara’s father Richard did make an appearance in the original Tomb Raider film. He was played by Angelina Jolie‘s real-life dad Jon Voight.

Here are a few details about her father that have been learned through the game franchise.

According to the storylines told in Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary and Underworld Lara’s father Richard Croft was an archaeologist, who after his wife’s disappearance travelled all over the world investigating archaeological sites and ruins in search for a stone dais, similar to the one where she had disappeared. During this time, he raised and taught Lara alone. However, he disappeared and was declared legally dead, although his remains have never been found. Even Lara unearthed human remains that could not be identified as his. From what Winston says, we are inclined to believe that he had quite a collection of artefacts.

It was revealed in an unlockable biography that he died while on a dig in Cambodia but we are guessing studio will change some details and make it a bit exciting I won’t be shocked if he comes back alive. Tomb Raider will be released on March 16, 2018.

I also added a new trailer from the game so you can have a little idea what is studio is pouncing on about.
