Last year, Sony announced a new film in The Karate Kid franchise. Now, there are talks of actor Jackie Chan reprising his role as Mr. Han, a character he portrayed in the 2010 remake. According to Discussing Film, the 69-year-old martial arts legend is likely to join the project once negotiations are finalized.
The film will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for his work on the series I Am Not Okay With This and The End of the F**ing World. In the previous Karate Kid film, Chan starred as Mr. Han, who mentors 12-year-old Dre Parker (played by Jaden Smith) after he moves to China and faces bullying from local kids.
It remains unknown whether Jaden Smith will return to the franchise, and specific story details have yet to be revealed. However, if Chan officially signs on, more information is expected to emerge soon.
