Jake Gyllenhaal will be appearing in a new heist thriller called Cut and Run, which is about “a group of thieves who use high-powered speed boats to rob super-yachts. Their caper takes a turn when they steal the wrong thing from the wrong group of people.”
The new movie was acquired by New Republic Pictures, who got the rights to the spec script that was written by John Glenn (Eagle Eye, Law Abiding Citizen). Apparently, there was a bidding war that affected several potential buyers.
Gyllenhaal will also produce the project through his company Nine Stories Productions. New Republic founder Brian Oliver and president Bradley Fischer will also produce alongside Glenn.
