James Wan is joining up with Universal Pictures for a new monster movie. They’ve also got Robbie Thompson, a famous writer and co-exec producer on CW’s Supernatural, for the script.
According to THR, “the story takes its cues from Universal’s classic monster legacy and shines it through a modern prism. With shades of Disturbia, the story will focus on a group of teens who discover that a neighbor is building a monster in his basement. Spoiler: the monster gets loose.”
Wan is only a producer on the project via his Atomic Monster. He will not direct the movie, which is a bad thing I love to see him direct this new project, but hopefully, he brings on a skilled director with an artistic vision to bring this story to life.
