Jim Carrey is coming back as The Cable Guy in a Super Bowl commercial that is set to be released during the big game this Sunday. We have seen many stars reprise their roles for Super Bowl ads. Jeff Bridges reprised his role as “The Dude” from The Big Lebowski, Bill Murray reprised his Groundhog Day role, and Mike Myers reprised his Wayne’s World character and is also coming back as his Austin Powers character Dr. Evil this year.
Check out the teaser showing Carrey’s Cable Guy ad, which is for Verizon’s 5G Internet service. Verizon CCO and SVP Andrew McKechnie said in a statement:
“[Carrey] was pretty psyched to do this and felt like this was the right time-you can’t get a better moment than the Super Bowl to do something like this. Hopefully, when the viewers see it, it will feel like a great story both from a cultural standpoint and, in terms of 25 years later, what The Cable Guy ultimately represents.”
Something big is almost here!
Your internet will never be the same.
