Kelsey Grammer’s Frasier revival is about to happen and if the project goes forward, the series will end up on Paramount+. The new version of Frasier is currently in talks at the ViacomCBS streaming service.
Kelsey Grammer has been working to get this Frasier reboot started for years and it looks like there’s hope that it will probably happen soon.
Grammar is in talks about his plan for the series, saying, “We’ve hatched the plan, what we think is the right way to go. [We’re] working on a couple of possible network deals that we’re sorting.”
The actor also revealed that any new episodes would concentrate on Frasier’s relationship with his son Frederick and his extended search for love. He then added, “We just have to staff it and find somebody who wants to give us money for it. You never know.”
Now they got the network and funding to push the series ahead. Grammer also revealed that he wants the entire cast to come back, saying:
“I’d want everybody back. We would need to deal with that within the storytelling, but I’d want everybody back, if they want to come back. Which they seem to, thankfully.”
One main character that will be missing from the TV series, though, is John Mahoney, who did the role of Frasier’s dad in the show. He passed away and Kelsey said that this is something they would need to approach. When previously talking about that, he said:
“Of course, John Mahoney died so you’d need to replace that energy, perhaps like they did on Cheers with Coach, they found Woody, who had the same kind of sensibility.”
