Deadline has confirmed that Lea Seydoux, Who played bond girl in Spectre will officially star alongside Channing Tatum in the GAMBIT. The script for Gambit was written by Josh Zemuter and is based on a treatment by Chris Claremont.

She will be taking on the role of Bella Donna Boudreaux. Seydoux was up against Mad Max: Fury Road’s Abbey Lee and Rebecca Ferguson from Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.

Bella Donna Boudreaux was created by Jim Lee and Scott Lobdell and first appeared in 1992’s X-Men Vol. 2 #8. Here’s a little background information on the character, thanks to Marvel:

Daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild, Bella Donna Boudreaux was born while the Guild was involved in an ages-old conflict with the similarly-structured Thieves’ Guild. Bella first met Remy LeBeau when they were children. Although she and LeBeau came from very different backgrounds, they nevertheless became fast friends. After LeBeau was accepted into the Thieves’ Guild, Bella’s friendship with him was seen as a chance for an alliance between the Guilds, and the two were betrothed by their respective parents. Immediately after the wedding, Bella’s brother Julien refused accept their marriage and challenged LeBeau to a duel. LeBeau won, and as punishment for killing an Assassin he was excommunicated from the Thieves’ Guild and exiled from New Orleans.

The movie is scheduled to start shooting this fall and will be released on October 7th, 2016.
