Leaked: Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti 20GB and RTX 3060 With 12GB RAM

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti 20GB

There are rumors of an Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU with 20GB of RAM that have been strong since the card was first announced. Given the gap between the current RTX 3080’s 10GB and the RTX 3090’s 24GB, it is obvious that Nvidia would finally fill that niche with a new SKU. But very little real evidence of an RTX 3080 Ti (or RTX 3080 Super) has revealed.

According to PCGamesN, trustworthy leaker HXL found a database entry on Asus’ support page for two models of RTX 3080 Ti 20GB cards, as well as two listings for an RTX 3060 with 12GB of RAM.

The model entries follow Asus’s typical naming pattern. If past Asus cards are anything to go by, the distinction between the two models is that one will have a factory overclock and the other one will run at stock speeds.

Nvidia’s RTX 30 series has been praised for its lower cost and superior performance when compared to RTX 20 series cards. However, the line released without a card that packed the same niche the GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 2080 Ti did. The lack of a model meeting between the RTX 3080’s $699 and the RTX 3090’s $1,499 price point is a dazzling omission considering there are many gamers who want more RAM but not higher performance.

Although the presence of RTX 3060 and RTX 3080 cards with more RAM is confirmed, no other information has leaked. Given supply issues with the first models of RTX 30 series cards, it’s likely that we’d see a different launch if the new GPUs released anytime soon.
