LEGO HERO FACTORY Robots Getting Film Adaptation

LEGO HERO FACTORY Robots Getting Film Adaptation (2)

There are many examples of how Hollywood likes to work in pairs – The Prestige and The IllusionistVolcano and Dante’s PeakAntz and A Bug’s Life – and this looks to be no different. Not to be confused with Chris Miller and Phil Lord’s upcoming LEGO adaptation for Warner Bros.

THR has the news, and they describe the Hero Factory line as an interactive series that includes toys, comics, a theme park, and of course an app. (Hero Factory is a follow-up to LEGO’s recent Bionicle series.)

The characters hail from a planet where a factory churns out robotic machines whose goal is to fight intergalactic evil. The heroes include characters such as Stormer, Bulk, Stringer, Furno and Breez with villains having monikers such as Von Nebular (a good guy gone rogue), XPlode, Corroder and Meltdown.

Sounds like…a movie based on LEGO characters, all right. Finch and Litvak are best known for their work on Nimrod Antal’s Predators, which, for better or worse, expanded the Predator universe far past the previous two films in that series. It seems like Universal is hoping these guys can get a grasp on the mythology of these LEGOS (I can’t believe I just typed that) so they can craft an entertaining film version of their story.
