Lego McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche Arriving This Spring

Speed Champions

This spring, Lego is launching a new series called Speed Champions. It looks like 8 sets will be part of this year’s offering, and they will feature all the supercars you love and might not afford in real.

Set 75909, for example, is the McLaren P1. The real deal is a plug-in hybrid with an electric motor complemented by a twin-turbo V8. That powerplant packs a whopping 903 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. That helps it achieve a top speed of about 220mph and a 0-60 time of less than three seconds. Fewer than 400 were slated for production, but don’t worry — supplies of the Lego set won’t be nearly that constrained.

Ferrari’s F150 is the star of set 75899. It’s not the only one Lego has in store for Ferrari fanatics, either. There’s also 75908 with the 458 Italia GT2, which has racked up numerous Le Mans and GT wins since its debut on the circuit in 2011.

Set 10248 will feature a classic Ferrari F40. Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson once referred to the F40 as “the greatest supercar the world had ever seen.” If you’re a Formula 1 fan, set 75913 is one of the biggest of the series. It comes not only with a Ferrari F14T, but also with a complete pit crew and a Scuderia Ferrari team truck. These sets will be awesome and a must have for any cars and Lego fanatic.
