Warner Bros. Japan has released the first trailer for the upcoming live-action Fullmetal Alchemist.
Fumihiko Sori who is directing the movie also commented on the film’s production saying: “The cast is entirely composed of Japanese actors, but the cultural setting is that of Europe. However, the race and nationality of the characters aren’t specifically identified.”
Two alchemist brothers go on a quest for the Philosopher’s Stone after an attempt to revive their dead mother goes horribly wrong. It stars Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, Ryuuta Satou as Maes Hughes, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Natsuna as Maria Ross, Natsuki Harada as Gracia Hughes, You Ooizumi as Shou Tucker, Jun Kunimura as Tim Marcoh, Fumiyo Kohinata as Hakuro, Yasuko Matsuyuki as Lust, Kanata Hongou as Envy, Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony, and Kenjirou Ishimaru as Cornello.
The film is set for release in Japan in 2017.
