Here are some awesome and interesting new details regarding Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Acolyte series, and they are sure to get Star Wars fans excited.

The Acolyte has been defined as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The High Republic is set 200 years before the Skywalker saga begins.

TheDisInsider‘s Derek Cornell and Skyler Shuler said, that the series will reportedly explore some prominent Sith characters from Star Wars Legends! They explain:

“We’re talking about Darth Revan, folks — which I hear they’re gonna bring in a lot of these Legends [characters]: Darth Bane, Darth Nihilus, Darth Malak, Darth Revan, all in [Star Wars: The Acolyte]. We’ll see.”

It will be awesome if this actually turned out to be true! But, as of right now, this is just a rumor for now. Darth Bane is an influential Sith character in Star Wars lore. He previously appeared in animated form as a dark illusion to Yoda in The Clone Wars and was voiced by Mark Hamill. This character was created by George Lucas and is the Sith Lord who created the Rule of Two.

The project comes from showrunner Leslye Headland, and she said in a previous interview that a lot of the characters from the prequel trilogy “haven’t even been born yet.” She also shared some additional details, saying:

“We’re taking a look at the political and personal and spiritual things that came up in a time period that we don’t know much about. My question when watching The Phantom Menace was always like, ‘Well, how did things get to this point?’ How did we get to a point where a Sith lord can infiltrate the Senate and none of the Jedi pick up on it? Like, what went wrong? What are the scenarios that led us to this moment?”

She went on to explain that the show takes place in a bright era for the galaxy, saying:

“We actually use the term the Renaissance, or the Age of Enlightenment. The Jedi uniforms are gold and white, and it’s almost like they would never get dirty. They would never be out and about. The idea is that they could have these types of uniforms because that’s how little they’re getting into skirmishes.”
