Our most beloved British detective show which just ended it’s third season and announced there won’t be a fourth season, But it seems they are turning it into a motion picture which is a good thing because it was the most brilliant detective show after BBC Sherlock for us.
Idris Elba was just brilliant in the show and if we say that he got his fame from that show and after doing the show he got The Losers, Prometheus, THOR, Voice over in Modern Warfare 3 (as ‘Truck’ see you don’t know that) and Pacific Rim to name a few of his brilliant movies and you will see him also in Mandela, The Gunman and Thor: Dark World.
The Guardian has word from The Edinburgh International Television Festival that Neil Cross wants to bring his series “Luther,” which stars Pacific Rim and The Losers actor Idris Elba, to the big screen following the end of the show after three seasons. However, rather than continuing the series, the film adaptation would be a prequel.
Cross mentioned the strong possibility of a film to The Guardian saying:
”I’ve written the script and we hope to get the film made next year. Idris is a brilliant leading man and we’ve hoped to turn Luther into a movie for a long time. It will follow his career in the earlier days, when he is still married to Zoe, and the final scene in the film is the first of the initial TV series.”
The UK outlet also notes that the series would bring back Warren Brown as Justin Ripley and also Steven Mackintosh as Ian Reed.
Earlier this year, Elba expressed interest in a Luther film, but said, “We do want a new audience, but we also want to keep the fans interested, so we have to tread very carefully.”
