MacGyver Is Coming Back to Television

The Hollywood Reporter says that CBS is bringing MacGyver back to television. We also heard the news today about the reboot series for Lethal Weapon and A-Team is also coming back to the small screen.

According to THR, the new take is described as “a reimagining of the television series of the same name, following a 20-something MacGyver as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.”

“NCIS: Los Angeles’” R. Scott Gemmill will write the script and executive produce the CBS Television Studios drama. Henry Winkler will again executive produce alongside Michael Clear. James Wan is also attached to executive produce and direct the potential pilot.

The original series featured Richard Dean Anderson as an resourceful secret agent for the Phoenix Foundation who frequently would escape from dangerous situations with ingenious and lightning-quick engineering trickery.

The original series starred Richard Dean Anderson and ran from 1985 to 1992 on ABC.
