Predator and Alien are going to Marvel Comics! IGN is reporting that Marvel has taken the rights for both and they will be developing a new line of comics set in these fan-favorite sci-fi universes.
Marvel hasn’t announced any details on what these comic series will involve or how they will meet in with the Marvel Universe if they will fit into it at all. But, they will develop the characters and they’ve also shared a couple of teaser images.
The images come from Batman artist David Finch, and it shows Alien’s “Big Chap” Xenomorph.
Could we see something like Alien Vs. Predator V.s The Avengers? Because that could be entertaining! However, the story makes it clear that “the Predator teaser isn’t meant to imply the two franchises will be combined into the Marvel Universe.”
They explain that the new comics will “expand on the characters and settings of the various Alien and Predator movies.” But, it’s always welcome to see the Alien and Predator crossover with other Marvel characters.
The artist who sketched up the teaser art said this in a statement:
“Alien and Predator are the two of the most identifiable, iconic characters of all time, and I love them for that. But mostly, it’s being fortunate enough to be a kid when they were new. I’ve seen every movie they’ve ever been in, and I cannot wait to see them wreaking havoc in the Marvel Universe. I drew my pictures of them with a massive smile on my face.”
Dark Horse Comics has been publishing Alien and Predator stories since 1988 and 1989, but that has come to an end.
