Marvel has released the first teaser trailer for director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder! Chris Hemsworth is back as the God of Thunder and he will venture on a personal journey to figure out who he is and live in the moment.
“Not Every God Has a Plan,” and he is going to leave his superhero days behind him.
The trailer is loaded with radical footage of Thor on his next adventure and it heavily features members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The trailer is fun! There’s no real look at the main villain Gorr the Butcher, who is played by Christian Bale, but there is a teasing shot of Russell Crowe as Zeus.
The trailer also gives the first real look at Natalie Partman’s Jane Foster… as Mighty Thor! In the movie, her life is forever changed when she mysteriously comes to get the hammer Mjolnir… and the power of Thor!
Jane Foster’s Thor story arc is based on Jason Aaron’s comic book run in The Mighty Thor, the story of which follows a cancer-stricken Jane Foster.
“I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of The Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side.”
Thor: Love and Thunder also star Tessa Thompson back in her role of Valkyrie; Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8th, 2022.
