Matthew Perry Won’t Be Appearing In ‘Friends’ Reunion

It won’t be complete without him, Reunion still remains a illusion for me.

Fans who were excited to see all six Friends cast members together again during the cast reunion announced this week won’t be getting their wish: There will be a Chandler Bing sized hole on your screens.

“Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Feb. 2 at the Playhouse Theatre,” a rep for Matthew Perry said in a statement. “NBC executives were aware of this prior to their TCA announcement yesterday.”

Update, January 15, 2:30 p.m. ET: According to The Daily Mail, Perry discussed the reunion at a taping of The Graham Norton Show.

“”It’s not the reunion everyone is hoping for. They are celebrating Jim Burrows, who was a director of Friends,” Perry told the host. The other five are going to be on this special and I am going to introduce them from London. I’m doing the play here so I can’t be there.”

The special will air on NBC February 21.
