MGS V Is Hundreds Of Times Larger Than Ground Zeroes

Konami’s upcoming action-adventure stealth, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes world map is relatively smaller than Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, according to Hideo Kojima.

Creator and director of Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima took to twitter to reveal the news:

“GZ is both a prologue to the MGSV story and, at the same time, a tutorial for a new MGS, which transitions to sneaking simulator.

With that said, GZ has a relatively small field as compared to the main game (which is hundreds of times larger) without time zones changing in real-time. However, each mission offers different time zones with different playstyles.”
We all know that MGSV: The Phantom Pain is enormous and considering that Ground Zeroes is still pretty big.

Previously, Kojima also explained the relationship between Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain:

“Ground Zeroes is the gateway that leads into The Phantom Pain and serves as the prologue to the core Metal Gear Solid V experience.

If I were to draw an analogy to Hollywood movies, it’s similar to those first 15 minutes of a film that grabs the viewer’s interest and pulls them in before the opening title appears.

In game terms, it’s a sort of tutorial that will help players get accustomed to many of the changes that we’re introducing to the system.”

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release on March 18, 2014 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The PS3 and Xbox 360 boxed versions will retail for £29.99, digital versions for £19.99. PS4 and Xbox One digital version will retail for £29.99.
