Sean Bean’s cult series The Frankenstein Chronicles is coming to the U.S. on Netflix. According to Variety, the service has picked up the two six-episode seasons and will air them as Netflix Original in the U.S.
I have heard that the show is great but didn’t get the chance to see it but I think now we all see what the hype is all about.
The Frankenstein Chronicles is a re-imagining of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. Set in 1830s London, Bean (“Game of Thrones”) plays John Marlott, a war veteran and river policeman. Season 1 of the serialized show sees him investigating the case of a corpse made up of body parts from different children, and finding the matter involves senior establishment figures and demonic forces.
The series in the UK is produced by Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones) and premiered in 2015 and has been playing on ITV’s Encore channel in the U.K. but the British broadcaster is closing the linear service down.
