Netflix has released the first Resident Evil teaser trailer for the forthcoming live-action horror drama, which will be available for streaming on July 14. The video gives us our first look at the main characters Billie and Jade Wesker, who apparently are the subjects of their father’s experiments for the Umbrella Corporation. It also teases the series’ alternating timelines as it gives us a look into post-apocalyptic London.
Check out the Resident Evil teaser trailer below:
“Set in the year 2036, 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures,” reads the synopsis. “In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”
The live-action Resident Evil series hails from Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb, who is serving as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner. It will reportedly be set between two timelines featuring the same protagonist. It stars John Wick star Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, the villainous head of Umbrella Corporation.
The cast of the series includes Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Tamara Smart (A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting), Siena Agudong (No Good Nick), and Paola Nuñez (Bad Boys for Life) along with Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.
