Director Ruben Fleischer finished shooting Sony Picture’s upcoming movie Uncharted, which is based on the famous Playstation video game franchise. Tom Holland takes on the role of young Nathan Drake while Mark Wahlberg is playing the character, Sully.
The studio has revealed four new images from the movie, which revealed the adventure that young Drake will find himself going on in the movie. The first picture features a jewel adorned cross, which is actually a key in another photo. There are also images of maps and ancient artifacts.
The film is set to tell the story of a young Nathan Drake before he becomes the treasure hunter from the game. Nathan Drake is famous for his adventures all over the world as he reveals many historical mysteries. Sully is his mentor.

Holland said that it is one of the best movie scripts he’s ever read:
“I think what Uncharted offers that most video games films don’t is that it’s an origin story to the games. So if you played the games, you haven’t seen what’s going to happen in the film. And if you haven’t played the games, you’re going to enjoy the film because it’s information that everyone else is getting at the same time. But I’m super excited to make that movie and it’s been a long time coming.
“I read the newest draft of the script on the way over here and it’s one of the best scripts I’ve ever read. It really, really jumps off the page.”
The movie also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, and The 100 actor Tati Gabrielle. The Uncharted hits theaters on July 16th, 2021.
