The Grinch is back and it is doing great at the box office and this time he’s meaner than ever! The Christmas classic remake released at the box office on November 10th and it is a big hit. Its release earned $66million during the opening weekend. The movie owes its victory to a creative billboard campaign which went viral across social many media platforms. These ads were targeted at the residents of such cities like New York and Los Angeles.
They clearly ignore when they saw green billboards showing this ill-tempered character glaring at them and making mildly-offensive comments. And despite being evil, these ads were quite on point and directed to reach a remarkable target audience – millennials. According to Hollywood Reporter, 18 percent of ticket buyers on the opening night were between ages 18-24. Check all the billboards below, they are creative and quite smart.
