Sylvester Stallone is getting really close to making the fifth movie of the Rambo saga.
It has not been confirmed by Stallone’s reps but Deadline Hollywood reports that Millennium Films has already started sales on the project in Cannes revealing a shoot date for September of this year. Stallone is also said to be currently working on the script.
This new movie will be the fifth in the very lucrative franchise. And follows Rambo’s struggles when the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped. Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, is forced to cross the U.S.-Mexican border and face the full force of one of Mexico’s most violent and vicious cartels. I am sure he will survive some how.
The first movie in the franchise, First Blood, launched in 1982 and this fifth movie has been “under construction” for a long time now. Stallone last reprised the fan favorite legend of a role of John Rambo in 2008’s Rambo, a film that he also wrote and directed.
