New Extended Featurette For Sam Mendes’ WWI Film 1917 Dives into Making of the Movie

1917

Universal Pictures has unveiled an extended 11-minute featurette for director Sam Mendes’ upcoming World War I movie 1917. This is a movie that I’m very excited about. It looks like it will be an unbelievable film and this featurette gives us an exciting overview of the movie, from the conception, the story, what went into creating it, the cast, and much more. If you’re passionate about watching this movie, this is something you have to watch. The amount of work that went into making this movie was ridiculous.

Here’s the synopsis:

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.

1917 stars Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Madden, and Andrew Scott.

Universal Pictures will release the movie domestically in limited release on December 25, 2019, and worldwide on January 10, 2020.
