New Full Trailer for Robert Downey Jr.’s HBO Series PERRY MASON

PERRY MASON

HBO has unveiled a new full trailer for the Robert Downey Jr.-produced series Perry Mason, and this looks like a brilliant show! It has some amazing vibes. I’m a big fan of the rough, dark tone and the 1930s Los Angeles noir-style environment. This limited series looks like it’s going to deliver the goods, and to me, it looks like Rockstars L.A. Noire. I am so excited! watch the trailer below.

Matthew Rhys (The Americans) stars in the new TV series as Mason, who is a private detective. “While the rest of the country recovers from the Great Depression, this city is booming! Oil! Olympic Games! Talking Pictures! Evangelical Fervor! And a child kidnapping went very, very wrong! Based on characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner, this limited series follows the origins of American Fiction’s most legendary criminal defense lawyer, Perry Mason (Rhys). When the case of the decade breaks down his door, Mason’s relentless pursuit of the truth reveals a fractured city and just maybe, a pathway to redemption for himself.”

Downey Jr. developed and produced the series with his wife, Susan Downey. It was co-written by Rolin Jones and Ron Fritzgerald, who are also set as the series’ showrunners. Tim Van Patten directs the series, and he has worked on many successful HBO series such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Sex, and the City, and Deadwood.

The series also stars veteran actor John Lithgow (Pet Sematary), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Chris Chalk (Gotham) and Shea Whigham (Homecoming), Nate Corddry (Mom), Veronica Falcon (Queen of the South), Jefferson Mays (I Am The Night), Gayle Rankin (GLOW), and Lili Taylor (Chambers).

Perry Mason airs June 21st on HBO.
