HBO has released a brand new featurette for Game of Thrones as the premiere of the final season is coming soon. You will enjoy the behind-the-scenes video that focus on certain technical aspects of bringing this classic fantasy series to life.
The camera team calls themselves the “Dragon Unit” and one of the camera operators, Sean Savage, talks about the work he has done on the series over the years and reveals what he thinks the best scene that has ever been shot is. They put a focus on “The Battle of the Bastards” battle because it is one of the greatest and most challenging battle scenes that they had to shoot.
HBO also announced that they are producing a two-hour documentary that will dive into the production of the final season. That will be called Game of Thrones: The Last Watch and here are the details:
GAME OF THRONES: THE LAST WATCH delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland…
Made with unprecedented access, GAME OF THRONES: THE LAST WATCH is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers.
Much more than a “making of” documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world?—?and then have to say goodbye to it.
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will air on HBO on Sunday, May 26, 2019, from 9-11pm.
