A new commercial has been unveiled for Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and it gives us a sneak peek at what’s coming ours way for the highly anticipated attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The footage shows people joining the Resistance and heading out on a mission against the First Order. The ride is said to include four journeys in one and will be at least 15 minutes long from start to finish! Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney parks, explained:
“Imagine being chased for 15 minutes by Kylo Ren and the First Order. Stormtroopers everywhere. Lightsabers coming at you. It’s going to be fantastic.”
It is all sounds incredible, and it certainly looks like a lot of fun! Guests will be given a secret mission by Rey (Daisy Ridley) and piloted by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). After being captured by the First Order, Finn (John Boyega, shows up to help you escape the Star Destroyer before it blows up. Check out the detailed description:
The new attraction will put riders in the middle of a battle between the villainous First Order and the heroic Resistance in a dangerous off-planet mission as new recruits. Along the way, the recruits will be captured aboard a Star Destroyer, break out of a First Order detention cell, elude the clutches of Kylo Ren and escape back to a secret base on the Star Wars planet of Batuu, the setting for the new 14-acre Galaxy’s Edge lands.
The Rise of the Resistance attraction will feature videotaped, holographic and audio-animatronic appearances by some of the characters from the latest Star Wars trilogy. The “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits” TV special showed scenes being filmed for the Rise of the Resistance ride by Daisy Ridley (who plays Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Issac (Poe Dameron) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren). The actors recorded their scenes for the new attraction while making the upcoming “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” movie.
Rise of the Resistance opens on December 5, 2019, in Disney World, and on January 17, 2020, at Disneyland.
