Directed by Terry Jones, Starring Simon Pegg in Absolutely Anything will be a awesome watch, Empire has some new stills from the pseudo-Python reunion movie, which stars Simon Pegg as an omnipotent nobody.
Jones explains that Pegg is playing a man called Neil, “a teacher in a sink secondary school, who gets given magic powers by aliens. He can make anything happen, but he doesn’t realize it until his colleague says, ‘What would you do if you could do anything?’ and Neil responds with, ‘I’d make an alien spaceship hit class 4C and vaporize them.’ Then there’s an explosion in the school, and they run to 4C’s classroom, open the door and there’s a vast hole in the ground.”
Voicing the aliens will be Jones and his Monty Python cohorts John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin, along with Robin Williams in his final role voicing Neil’s dog Dennis. The film’s central dilemma will apparently involve Neil having to choose between Dennis and a woman named Catherine, played by Kate Beckinsale.
Released in the UK on February 13, 2015. No U.S. release date has been set.
