Marvel Studios has unleashed a second awesome and absolutely crazy trailer for its highly-anticipated action-adventure movie Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania! A lot of the recent Marvel projects have been polarizing, but a lot of Marvel fans seem excited about this new Ant-Man movie, and it looks brilliant.
This new trailer is filled with new footage that delivers more insight into the story and Kang’s reason for trying to enlist Ant-Man for help. I loved the Ant-Man films, and I think this one is going to produce the goods.
When talking about Kang, director Peyton Reed explained that the villain is trapped in the Quantum Realm and he wanted Ant-Man to help him escape. He went on to discuss the profound impact that Kang will have on the MCU: “I think it has a profound impact on the MCU. Jeff Loveness, who wrote [Quantumania], is writing The Kang Dynasty as well, so there’s been a lot of discussion about the impact that this appearance of Kang the Conqueror makes. There are big things in store.”
As for Kang the Conqueror, this version of the character is “very different” from He Who Remains from Loki. Reed offered a description of this character, saying: “He’s someone who has dominion over time, and he’s a warrior and a strategist.”
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania officially kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in it “Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and launching on an adventure that will push them past the limits of what they thought was possible.”
Jonathan Majors will be taking on the role of Kang, and he’s going to be quite threatening. Kathryn Newton also will take on the role of Cassie Lang, and Bill Murray also has a role in the film!
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The action-comedy superhero movie will release on February 17, 2023.
