AMC has unleashed an all-new TV spot for their series adaption of Joe Hill’s vampire horror novel NOS4A2. Zachary Quinto stars in the eerie-looking series as the ancient, supernatural powered character Charlie Manx, “who periodically rejuvenates by feeding on the life forces of children as he transports them to a fantasy world he has created called Christmasland.”
Quinto is joined by Ashleigh Cummings in the series, who plays a heroine, named Vic McQueen, who is about to enter her senior year at a high school in Massachusetts. She’s described as a ”working-class kid who has such a creative mind that it actually gives her a kind of superpower.”
NOS4A2 looks solid and I am sure it will be my next binge series. There hasn’t been a lot of footage shown from it, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen from it. Check out the synopsis:
“NOS4A2, based on Joe Hill’s bestselling novel of the same name, tells the story of Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.
”The Goldfinch‘s Ashleigh Cummings will play Vic McQueen, a young, working-class artist whose creativity awakens a supernatural ability to track Manx (Quinto). What Vic lacks in social confidence, she makes up for in courage, humor, and tough-as-nails grit. She strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.”
NOS4A2 will also star Virginia Kull, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Darri Olafsson. The 10 one-hour episodes will air in 2019.
