One Soldier’s Brilliant Invention Saved Thousands of Allied Lives in WWI

drip rifle

At the time of the evacuation of Gallipoli in WWI by the Allies, which started in December 1915, an original device was constructed on the battlefield by ANZAC forces to beat the Ottoman army into thinking a large force was still shooting back at them and resisting, when in fact the rifles were shooting on its own and without a person pulling the trigger! Awesome.
