X-ray vision we never knew it can come on a smartphone. Or, at least, something that looks very much like it. It’s a feature of the new OnePlus 8 Pro, which appears to use the phone’s infrared sensors to see through a subset of black materials.
If you’ve got an OnePlus 8 Pro and want to try it out for yourself, just open up the camera app, swipe over to the “Photochrom” color filter, and look at some black objects.

In the Unbox Therapy video, it does look like the filter can see through clothes, but in very limited conditions. A Reddit user confirmed the same thing.
Depending on the severity of this issue, OnePlus might have to limit the feature through a software update. After all, there was a related scandal in the 90s when Sony was forced to recall a camcorder that added a night vision that can see-through clothing.
