Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios revealed the new numbered addition to a much-loved series. Age of Wonders 4 brings the series back to its roots for the first time in 9 years, with new levels of customization.
Age of Wonders 4 will enable players to rule a fantasy kingdom of their design, blending strategy, role-playing, and tactical turn-based combat. Utilizing Tomes of Magic to cast spells and evolve their armies into new forms, players will be able to create their own custom factions and leave their own special mark on countless worlds through each of their options. A new event system will also deliver unexpected levels of storytelling that allow players to see how their choices influence the world around them, through changing allegiances and mystical powers. The factions that you develop may also come back as possible allies or rivals in later games, making an almost long-term narrative that each gamer develops.
With all this customization, there is also the ability to make your own worlds to battle across, with a massive variety of environments, units, and empires to keep the game endlessly replayable. Age of Wonders 4 aims to be the most open-ended game of the franchise, and will also be highly mod-friendly for more customization and storytelling.
Age of Wonders 4 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
