Paramount’s APARTMENT 7A Is ROSEMARY’S BABY Prequel Film

ROSEMARY'S BABY

Paramount Players recently finished production on a new psychological horror-thriller called Apartment 7A. And, according to Bloody-Disgusting, this movie actually serves as a prequel movie to Roman Polanski and Mia Farrow’s classic 1968 horror blockbuster Rosemary’s Baby.

It’s explained that the new horror film will tell the story of the woman who died outside the apartment when Rosemary moved into the apartment in the original film. In that film, Farrow played a pregnant young woman who becomes increasingly isolated and thinks that something is very wrong with her baby. The sinister truth is revealed after Rosemary gives birth.

Apartment 7A is produced by Platinum Dunes (The Purge, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th) and A Quiet Place director John Krasinski. Platinum Dunes was going to remake Rosemary’s Baby 15 years ago and this is what that turned into.

According to IMDb, Amy Leeson is playing Rosemary Woodhouse, who is the main character portrayed by Mia Farrow in the original movie. Then there’s Kevin McNally, who is playing the character Roman Castevet, who was originally played by Sidney Blackmer. The movie also stars Julia Garner (Ozark) and Dianne Wiest (Edward Scissorhands).

In the original movie, “Rosemary eventually deduces that Roman Castevet is an anagram for Steven Marcato, the son of a former Bramford resident and a reputed Satanist. She suspects that the Castevets and Dr. Sapirstein belong to a Satanic coven and have sinister intentions for her baby.”
