Patrick Stewart Also Leaving The X-Men After LOGAN

Patrick Stewart

Hugh Jackman isn’t the only one retiring from the X-Men franchise after Logan. Patrick Stewart has announced that Logan will be his last movie in the role of Professor X, This is really sad news all of my favorite X-men stars are leaving the universe and I don’t think it stops here.

Stewart has said several times that he wasn’t actually done with playing Xavier yet, but he thinks that Logan was so great and so compelling that it changed his mind. The movie was so brilliant, it made him not want to reprise the role again. He made the statement during a Sirius XM Town Hall explaining:

“I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it… [After the screening,] we were going to be taken up on stage, but not until the credits were over. We had some time to sit there and, as I sat there, I realized there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.’”
