Coca-Cola ran a commercial just before kickoff that celebrated the diversity of the American people. and exactly at that time it pissed people off on Twitter and #BoycottCoke was born. The ad depicted scenes of people all over the country enjoying themselves, set to a multilingual version of “America the Beautiful.” These extreme reactions to relatively innocent ad have been something of a running theme this Super Bowl thanks to our intense political climate.
