Anchorage and its neighboring areas were shaken by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on Friday morning. Gov. Bill Walker issued a disaster declaration, closing schools as roads and bridges collapsed and cracked. The Anchorage Water Waste and Utility Department advised residents to boil their water in case of contamination.

There are no reported casualties as of Friday afternoon, but the electric provider tweeted that 21,000 homes are without power.
