PlayStation VR2 Release Date & Price Announced With 11 New Games

PlayStationVR2

Sony didn’t release many details about PlayStation VR2’s release date and price, but the company has finally revealed when it is coming out and how much it will cost. The new headset will launch on February 22, 2023, for $549.99.

Pre-orders will open on November 15. Some users might have already gotten an invite to pre-order through Sony and those that haven’t can register on the official website. The $549.99 bundle comes with a headset, two controllers, and headphones. There is also a $599.99 version that comes with Horizon Call of the Mountain. Sony is even selling a $49.99 controller charging station.

Sony spoke more about its list of games, too. It’ll release with over 20 games, but that exact launch lineup wasn’t listed. The company also revealed 11 more PS VR2 games on the PlayStation Blog that will come after release.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is a rollercoaster shooting gallery much like Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn: Rush of Blood that came out for PS VR. It runs through the settings of the first four Dark Pictures games.

Zenith: The Last City

Zenith: The Last City is a fantasy MMORPG in VR.

Hello Neighbor VR: Search and Rescue

Hello Neighbor VR: Search and Rescue is like the non-VR versions of the game that has player sneaking around a house while the evil neighbor lurks around.

Pistol Whip

Pistol Whip is a rhythmic shooter that is an enhanced edition of the version that already came out. Those who already have Pistol Whip on PS VR will get this upgrade for free.

Cosmonious High

Cosmonious High is an odd title from the Job Simulator team that has players going to an alien high school. It promises to have the same blend of humor and VR interactivity as the team’s acclaimed prior games.

After the Fall

After the Fall is four-player co-op shooter that seemingly takes inspiration from the Metro series and Left 4 Dead.

The Light Brigade

The Light Brigade is a roguelike first-person shooter with procedurally generated levels that’s also coming to the original PS VR.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad

Crossfire: Sierra Squad is a military first-person shooter in Smilegate’s popular Crossfire series. It’ll have over 60 campaign weapons, 39 weapons, and four-player co-op.

Tentacular

Tentacular is a game that lets players inhabit a giant, good-hearted tentacled beast as they try to help citizens in the nearby town. This new PS VR2 version will have new features like eye tracking, enhanced audio haptics, and support headset vibration.

Cities VR – Enhanced Edition

Cities VR – Enhanced Edition, as its name implies, is an upgraded version of the city-building game in VR.

Jurassic World Aftermath Collection

This previously released, two-part survival adventure game is getting bundled together for PS VR2 and will have “volumetric lighting, enhanced post-processing effects, and faster loading times.” It is set between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and features voice acting from Laura Bailey and Jeff Goldblum.
