Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

Exciting news has emerged from Ubisoft as they announce the much-anticipated revival of the legendary Prince of Persia franchise with their upcoming title, “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.” Developed by the talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier, known for their exceptional work on the beloved platformer Rayman Legends, this game is set to take players on a nostalgic journey back to the series’ roots as a captivating 2D action-adventure experience. Mark your calendars, as the game is scheduled for release on January 18, 2024, across multiple platforms.

In “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown,” players will assume the role of Sargon, a courageous young warrior who is a member of an esteemed group known as the Immortals. Tasked with the mission to rescue Prince Ghassan from the clutches of the malevolent curse that looms over Mount Qaf, Sargon and his comrades soon find themselves embroiled in a grander scheme that threatens to disrupt the delicate balance of the entire world. Drawing inspiration from Persian mythology, the game’s captivating storyline will unfold within a Metroidvania structure, enabling players to acquire new time-based abilities gradually. These newfound powers will unlock previously inaccessible areas and aid in solving intricate puzzles scattered throughout the mystical Mount Qaf. To enrich the immersive experience, the game’s enchanting soundtrack is being composed by the exceptionally talented Iranian-born composer, Mentrix, alongside the renowned Gareth Coker.

“Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” will be available on a wide array of platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna, ensuring that fans can embark on this remarkable adventure regardless of their preferred gaming system.

It’s important to note that “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” should not be confused with the postponed remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” which has been under development by Ubisoft Montreal, with contributions from Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. Unfortunately, the remake has faced several delays since its initial announcement in September 2020. In May 2023, Ubisoft confirmed that the game would not be showcased at the Summer Game Fest due to it still being in the early stages of development.
