Rare 35mm Scan of the Original Teaser Trailer for THE GOONIES

The Goonies is one of my all-time favorite films and I still love watching it. I loved everything about this incredible movie, It just inspired the imaginations and sparked excitement in exploration.

If you are a fan of The Goonies, I’ve got a fabulous little treat to share with you today. This is a rare 35mm scan of the original teaser trailer that was released for the film and it is simply the best.

It’s a modest trailer, but it’s super smart as it used the titles of several previously released iconic movies to build the excitement. For example, “Goonies” is spelled out using letters from Gremlins, The Omen, Raiders of the Lost Arc, Close Encounters of the Second Kind, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, E.T., and, Superman.

It certainly does an excellent job of making the hype without actually showing any footage from the movie or giving away any information. The 80s was the best and I miss it.
