Realistic Alternative to Barbie in the Works

The man who made a Barbie with “typical” human dimensions is trying to release his own range of dolls to give children more realistic influences.

Realistic Alternative to Barbie in the Works

We already covered Nickolay Lamm’s work creating a Barbie that using the dimensions of an average 19-year-old American woman, who is shorter, thicker-waisted, shorter-necked and much less likely to topple over bust-first than the Mattel Doll.

While Lamm obviously couldn’t market the “realistic” Barbie, he has created his own doll, Lammily, designed to prove that “Average is Beautiful.” He notes:

Lammily Promotes Realistic Beauty Standards: The doll is made according to typical human body proportions.

Lammily is Fun: She has articulated wrists, knees, elbows, and feet.

Lammily Has Style: Lammily wears minimal makeup. Her wardrobe isn’t composed of typical clothing for dolls – she is dressed with striking simplicity.
