Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally available on PC, but some cowboys are trying to start their tragic cowboy adventure. Players who’ve tried to get into the game straight away are reporting issues ranging from the launcher not initializing to the game crashing almost instantly and taking back to the desktop.
For some of these problems, the fix is quite simple and classic ‘turn off your anti-virus software’. I’ve seen the fix recommended for a few various issues, but the one that seems to fix the most crashes that happen right after you begin the game.
If that’s what’s preventing your bank heists and stagecoach robberies, add Red Dead Redemption 2 to the list of exceptions or disable it completely and try to start the game again.
While these fixes might sort out your crashing issues, it looks like there are still lots of issues without a fix. We’ll be refreshing this post with more bugs and fixes as they’re uncovered.
